(Please note early start time.)
We are honored to participate in a master class right in our own studio! The distinguished Dr. Joel Harrison will be visiting our Studio Class Friday, March 1st. Dr. Harrison is the Artistic Director of the American Pianists Associations (APA). He is an extraordinary musician in his own right and is offering fresh and innovative energy to the arts. (We're so fortunate to host such a notable arts organization in our own city. Go the APA web site to learn more about this fabulous association!)
Participating students are those who are studying works from Robert Schumann's Album for the Young. The participation fee is $20, which will cover Dr. Harrison's fee. Please add this your February tuition ($144+20= $164). The following students are scheduled to play: Laura Bemis, Joseph DeNOva, Daniel Dickman, Betsy Harrison, Sarah Lambert, Caitlin McMillen, Hollie Shipley Brittany Thompson, and Lauren Zettler. We have a great deal of repertoire to cover, so arrive a few minutes early; we shall begin promptly at 4:30p. Dress in relaxed, casual attire. Bring your Schumann score!
The Following students have elected to participate in the CYO contest (Bravo!): Daniel D., Sarah Lbrt., Sarah Ldf., Emma M., and Alex Mc. Details are listed below:
Where? Bishop Chatard High School located at 5885 N. Crittenden Avenue. Chatard is on the south side of Kessler Ave. between Keystone and Meridian. Click here for "Map Locator".
When? Feb. 9th in the morning.
| Name | Time | Room |
| Daniel D. | 9:55a | Room 209 |
| Sarah Lbrt | 9:40a | Room 112 |
| Sarah Ldf | 8:45a | Room 212 |
| Emma M. | 9:10a | Room 106 |

How? Bring your music! Number your measures. Dress nicely. Smile, and have fun. Arrive at least 20 minutes before your performance time. Check in at the cafeteria, then go to your room. The way this works is you may be asked to stay and play in the finals. If so, you'll be hanging around for a couple hours, and play a second time in perhaps a different room with a panel a judges instead of just one. If not (usually the case), you are free to leave as soon as you find out your rating. If you score well enough, you may go to the cafeteria and pick up your medal! Good luck to all of you! Have a great day!

Solo Recital - Emma Morone
Emma, a second grader, will be performing a solo recital for friends and family in her home on Sunday, March 24 at 2:00 O'Clock in the afternoon. Miss Morone has been studying piano for only 18 months, yet has achieved much in that short time. She has reached Level 2A in Faber and Faber's Piano Adventure series, as well as learned and memorized all of Suzuki Book One. Good luck performing in your first solo recital, Emma!
Bravo! Joseph!
Joseph DeNova accompanied his friend Eric (a trumpeter) to a First Division rating at this years ISSMA Solo and Ensemble festival! Joseph and Eric performed "Fandango", a highly spirited ternary form piece loaded with alternate staccati throughout. Congratulations, boys!
