Studio Announcements

Studio Class in October - for grades 7-11 only
    When? Friday October 13    5:00-6:00pm
(no studio class this month for grades 1-6)

Halloween lessons cancelled.
No lessons for Tuesday students on Halloween night due to goblin infiltrations! This lesson is not made-up. See note below.

Time to Tune! Time to schedule a piano tuning. A good time is a couple weeks after your furnace has been on regularly, then late spring when air conditioning has been on for a couple weeks. I recommen John Porter of Castleton Piano Service. His phone number is (317) 842-6415.

Wed. and Thurs. students need to schedule a make-up for lessons normally on Oct. 18-19. I will be out of town.  See me soon for available choices. Includes Sat. and Sun. See below.

AIM Festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 11 at Butler University. All students are invited to participate. See me for application. All apps and money due to me on or before Oct. 13. I must send them in that Friday night.  AIM means "Acheivement In Music". This is a piano festival (not a competition) sponsored by the Greater Indianapolis Piano Teachers Association, a chapter of IMTA and MTNA. Last year, students found this experience to be positive and rewarding. App fees will be announced when you receive your application.

Field Trip in December. Details covered in "What's New?" for November, coming up Nov. 1.

All students are offered the same number of scheduled lesson days each semester. In order to have the same number of lessons for each day of the week, some will have scheduled *make-ups*, and some will not. Make-up choices will be dinner hours, or on the week-ends. Please note the following dates on your calendar, when lessons will not meet. Dates marked with an asterick* will have make-ups. Ask me anytime about make-up choices pertaining to these dates.

Assignment Books - Please read your child's notebook every week (even High Schoolers). Ask and listen for them to do everything listed; you'll be glad when Spring Recital arrives:-)

Studio Policies Also, please re-read the Studio Policies letter, especially if your child has studied with me for more than a year. It has been updated, most questions would probably be answered in that document. Always feel free to phone or e-mail me at anytime with concerns or questions. My teaching is most effective and your child benefits most when our lines of communication remain open.

Finally, please check this web site, and click on "What's New?" to stay current with important information. I no longer send letters in the mail. I am using this web site as the main form of communication. Please check it on the first of every month. I'd like to e-mail people with a reminder and hot-link to this page. If you prefer this service, send me your e-mail address. We'll give it a try.

New student rosters and a parent letter were mailed to your home in September. This list will be updated in November or December. I'll send it home with students instead of mail it. Misplace letter? Click here for a cyber copy of parent letter sent (roster not included) to your home. No other mail will be sent snail mail. Please click on "What's New?" at the start of each month to stay current of news.

Listed below are the updated schedules and documents for your convenience:
