Aim Festival - Mark you calendars for Achievement In Music (AIM) Festival. (The date in "What's New? October" was incorrect.) Directions to Butler University: South on U.S. 31 (N. Meridian). West (right) on 46th Street (at the Governor's Estate), travel 4 blocks. Look for Butler Campus straight ahead. Look for the large modern performing arts building (Clowes Hall) on the right. Pass Clowes as you drive into campus. Just beyond Clowes on the NE corner is Lilly Hall. Lilly Hall is the music building. Park anywhere, even faculty slots. Enter by way of the stairs/ramp on NW side of building.

November Studio Classes - AIM participants, especially!
November 3, 2000     5:00-6:00p      Virtuosos (grades 7-11)
November 17, 2000    5:00-6:00p     Young Artists (grades 1-6)

December studio class is canceled. It is so close to the AIM Festival, we would defeat our purpose. Instead, we will focus on Christmas music through December at piano lessons. By Christmas everyone should have some carols they can share with their families. Studio Class Schedule.

No lesson on Halloween, nor Thanksgiving. See: "No lessons" for more information.

IMTA Convention - November 10-11, 2000, I'll be out of town attending the annual Indiana Music Teachers Convention at DePauw University. I hope to return with many ideas!

Time Crunch - The week or so prior to Fall Break, 25% of my students needed to cancel their lessons at the last minute due to time crunch in getting home work and projects done. Because I offered to make up the lesson to the first student, I felt I needed to be fair and offer lessons to all. This places a time crunch to my entire family. In the future, I need to stick to the policy of switching with other students, or simply cancel the lesson without a make-up or refund. I would love to be flexible enough to help the occasional "exception", but can not. I really try to do the best for each student. The students who attend most regularly, and at the same time,  are most likely to play piano the longest. You always have the option of switching lessons.  Thanks.
