Spring Recital

You all played so well in this year's spring recital. I'm so proud of each one of you. I'll distribute your performance CDs as soon as they are completed. BRAVO!!! We'll begin new repertoire at your next lesson, to be performed at our final, combined Studio Class on May 16, 2008 at 5:00 pm.

May Studio Class

We have one more Studio Class this school year, which is set for Friday May 16, 2005 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. All students are combined.

May Studio Class will mark the end of piano lessons for this school year. I have added one extra lesson to the school year, at no charge. This will allow for enough time to set and meet new goals between spring recital and the end of the school year.

Seniors!!!

This year we graduate 2 students from our studio: Sarah L. and Marissa T. Both of these young women have been a delight to know and teach. We wish both a wonderful future! Keep in touch, Ladies!

Star Studio now features works by Robert J. Lang, a former physicist and engineer turned artist, whose innovative approach to the traditional art of Origami has earned him a reputation as one of the world's most important Origami artists. The exhibition in Star Studio includes examples of Lang's complex and realistic work, including monumental paper sculptures created at the IMA for the exhibition. The exhibition also gives visitors the opportunity to learn to make their own folded paper creations, which will be incorporated into a unique visitor-generated installation.

Admission to the general museum and Lilly are free!

Carmel International Arts Fair is postponed until May 2009

Summer Camps

Now is the time to think about summer camp experiences. Summer is a great time to expand our music experiences, either by playing music of our choice on our own at home, or scheduling summer lessons with Mrs. McIntyre, or attending a camp.

There are many choices in regard to camps: Elementary students can look into Butler Univerisity.

String players can look into the Carmel Conservatory offerings (http://www.vscarmel.com/camp3.html) .

Junior High and High Schoolers who want an extended overnight 'camp' experience in the arts should consider Interlochen Arts Camp.

For those interested in Jazz and increasing improvisational skills, consider Harry Miedema's Circle City Jazz Camps.

I've created a web page about summer music camps, found at: Summer Camps. This time of year it receives record numbers of hits from all over the globe!
