Piano Studio of Lola McIntyre

Special Guest In Our Studio

Professor Buddai is finishing up his observations next Monday. As you know, Mr. Buddai has chosen our studio, and observations of our students for his doctoral research. He has chosen our studio as one of the leading studios in central Indiana. I think both of us have grown from the experience. Good luck completing your dissertation, Mr. Buddai!

Cell Phone Ringers

We just bought new cell phones for our family, and started experimenting together different ways to download new cell phone ring tones. Then, my imagination took over...hey, we create MIDI files so easily in our studio, why not customize our own cell phone ringer? I created a page on how to do this yourselves found at: How To Create An Original Cellular Phone Ring Tone, found on our studio web site. Feel free to e-mail the page to friends and family.

Audio Recordings

Audio Recordings are finished and awaiting my pick-up at U of I next week. I will destribute them at Studio Class. Each family will receive one CD of the program, which is included in your recital fee. You may make copies to give as gifts to friends and family.

Fall Registration

All students who plan on returning in the fall, will be guarnteed a place in my schedule when I receive the Fall Registration Fee of $50. I have received many remits already. If you have not yet done this, and plan on returning in the Fall, please remit at next week's lesson, or at Studio Class. If I do not receive your Fall Registration Fee by May 15, I free your spot up for other inquiring students.

If you would like to register a sibling, please do this in May. I have received COUNTLESS calls since January.

Recommendations

I will be holding auditions in May for limited slots ( 1 or 2 students). If you know anyone who may want to study piano at our studio, feel free to e-mail this web site address, and my e-mail address. I am greatly appreciative of your recommendations to prospective students. Although I have had students go on to a career in music, I look for students willing to practice regularly, not necessarily the one's with the most talent or expecting to choose music as a profession. I am looking for beginners between the ages of 5 and 8 who have never taken piano lessons.

May Studio Class

Our final Studio Class of the school year will draw our weekly lessons for the 2003-2004 school year to a close. It is scheduled for Friday May 14, 2004 from 5:00-6:00 pm. Lessons following May 14 will be by appointment, throughout the summer.

Summer Lessons

I will be teaching throughout the summer. Summer session is from May 17 through August 13, 2004. If you would like summer lessons, the fee is $42 per hour. Lessons are by appointment, and times can fluctuate from week to week according to your family schedule. Many like to phone on Sunday evening to schedule a lesson for that week. But, feel free to phone me anytime for a lesson, even if it is for the next day. Summers are very flexible, and we'll be around most weeks.

Summer Music Camps

All students are strongly urged to consider attending a music camp during the summer. There are a variety of choices, which can meet the needs of every variety of students. Click on: Summer Camps for suggestions. Past students who have attended a piano or arts camp have grown from the experience in many ways. Most students choose to return in subsequent years.

Professional Advancement

I am very excited to return to some of my own piano study this summer. I have arranged to study privately on a regular basis, with a concert pianist beginning in mid-May.

I am scheduled to attend the International Music Technology Seminar in June. I will be performing publically in the winter of '05.

The University of Indianapolis has invited me and one of my colleagues to develop a course for music teachers: Teaching Music With Technology. We are scheduled to offer and teach this course August 1-2 and 3-4 of 2005. It will be open to all music teachers who teach K-12, and for music majors who are working on K-12 Indiana teacher certification.

Tuition Change

There will be an increase in tuition this year to $168 per month (Mid-August through Mid- May). I have received over 100 requests from prospective students in the past several months. For more information, consult our Studio Policies page.

Our studio offers extraordinary opportunities which place our standards above most:
