Spring Recital: When and Where Is It?

The students may have told you the exciting news: this year, our Spring Recital will take place at the Christen DeHaan Fine Arts Center located on the University of Indianapolis campus. Several of you parents had expressed the interest in the new location, because it offers a special oppportunity for your child to play in an exceptional hall.

The hall itself is actually called the Ruth Lilly Hall, but we at U of I have been referring to it as the CDFAC when releasing concert dates to the press, because folks have been getting confused with the Lilly music building at Butler (different place). CDFAC (Christen DeHaan Fine Arts Center) houses one of the finest concert halls of its size in the midwest. We are grateful to Ruth Lilly and Christel DeHaan for their generousity.

Invite friends and family to the concert. I will not be advertising our private concert in the news paper, so relax! But, you are encouraged to invite friends and family. There is plenty of seating.

CDFAC is located just 10 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis, at the corner of Hanna and Madison Avenues.

All details are on the Spring Recital page... please read and mark your calendars.

When Do I Play at the CYO CONTEST?

CYO is this Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004. Your times are found on this web site: (Click on CYO)

Lesson Schedule?

The updated Lesson Schedule is on the web, in case you need to switch lessons with another due to a conflict.

Monthly Tuition Due When?

In a nutshell, simply write a monthly tuition check on or before the second week of every month. A detailed Remittance Schedule is also available, which included additional information. Older students who drive themselves can be asked to help keep the same schedule, since they will bring a check with them to lesson. Parents who observe once a month sometimes find this the best week to observe.

When are Studio Classes?

Studio Classes are announced for second semester. Just a reminder, these are an integral componant to your piano study (this is where we have fun and practice performing!). Please mark the upcoming classes on your calendar.

Important March Studio Classes coming! Choose one to attend. Read details on STUDIO CLASS SCHEDULE.

Mrs. McIntyre Biography

Mrs. McIntyre's biography has been included in this year's Who's Who of American Educators, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. Her students at U of I evaluated her as one of their most effective professors, and placed her in the top 10% nationally.

Have I Given You My Current E-Mail Address?

What's New? on this web site will be updated as needed, and sent to you as a convenient link via e-mail. Please give me your e-mail address, if you have not yet done so.

So, What About Those Make-Up Lessons?

The Make-Up Lesson Policy remains the same: switch with someone else. Is anyone opposed to having their e-mail address as a clickable link on the web, embedded under their name on the schedule? Let me know. If anyone is uncomfortable about it, I'll not do it. An example would be: Lola M.. Last names would still be omitted. This would help you in contacting someone to switch. You will still receive everyone's phone number on a printed page. Look for these to come home with the student in early September, or before.

When is Spring Recital? (INFO CHANGED...PLEASE NOTE!)

Spring Recital is scheduled for SUNDAY MARCH 21, 2004. Rehearsal is on Saturday March 20th from 10:30-12:30pm. The recital fee is $35 per student. Congratulations Sarah L.

Sarah Lm. won an audition to accompany her choir at school. She really challenged herself and learned a difficult accompaniment. Because of her hard work and dedicated, strong work ethic, she really did a great job at the final performance. BRAVO, SARAH!!!

SOLO RECITAL

Lauren B. has asked to do a solo recital. Lauren just returned from Singapore, after having lived and studied piano there for two years. She returns with appreciation for our studio classes, which she missed while away. She also is glad to see and play her beautiful grand piano which has been waiting for her in storage. She is challenging herself to do a program of Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin, and Kabalevsky. Check back to this web site for the date, once it is scheduled. Team McIntyre is cheering for you...GO, LAUREN!
