Adult Students- There have been several calls regarding lessons for adults.  Adult lessons are 99.00 for 4 lessons, paid in advance.  Lessons are scheduled by appointment, rather than a strict weekly time slot, which allows for flexibility. If interested, e-mail me.

Kids Piano Page - is undergoing a facelift.  I need anyone in cyberspace who visits this page of the site to e-mail me with cool URL addresses for me to look at for inspiration.  I need to know what you want from the page.  If you can give me an example of cool graphics, animation, games, you see elsewhere, try and e-mail with the web site's address. My hope is to make it more interactive.

Teen Music Surf Site will soon feature how-to's on MP3 downloads and sites.  Also, I'll update info regarding burning your own CD's at home.  Prices are dropping as we speak!!  CD recording capabilities are essential for file storage of any kind.  You can fit the info from 500 Floppy Disks or 7 Zip Disks onto one CD.  Tell your folks the difference in cost and hassle is worth the purchase of a CD-ROM Write/Read/Rewrite Drive.  Software is often included.  Shop and learn.

Parents - As always, your comments, questions, and concerns are welcome.  I'm busy this semester taking a class in Digital Arts:Music.  Just a little food for thought:  Don Tapscott tells us in his book, Growing Up Digital: The Rise of the Net Generation, (see:   bn.com - Growing up Digital: The Rise of the Net Generation ) that our web savvy kids are the largest demographic group (ages 2-22) in North America numbering at 88 million strong.  Invest in your kids by upgrading your computers.  Own a MIDI (electronic piano) controller or synthesizer?  Move it into your computer room and connect it with an inexpensive cable and see what happens.  Take a look at the sequencing software Musicshop by Opcode.  Any age would get lost in the Doodle Pad section of Music Ace by Harmonic Vision. These kids are comfortable with digital exploration. Many are drawn to deeper music study by way of their computers. For a great catalog of Music Technology software, see:  Pepper Music Network - Printed Music of All Publishers - World's Largest Sheet Music Retailer

Teachers - A special welcome to all who visit this site.  I enjoy hearing from piano teachers from all over the world.  Share your ideas or ask questions.  I try and return e-mails within 10 days, sometimes immediately.  If any of you are using music technology as a tool in your studio or are currently writing your own instruction CD-ROMs for your students, please e-mail me.  I am keenly interested in learning more about Multimedia design.

A special welcome to the Indiana Piano Teachers Guild who visited my studio on Monday February 14.   Meeting theme was "SS Digital Arts Cruise Line presents an adventure cruise for piano teachers: Forging Uncharted Music Waters."  Thanks for attending the meeting and also for visiting this web site!  If you were unable to come, email me and I'll send you some information via snail mail.

McIntyre Studio Students - This section is information specifically for my students.  Visitors welcome.  Students, you have been working very hard.  I have seen really dedicated practice. After reading this information, you may want to scan the standard info for you on this site by clicking on Site Map/McIntyre Students .For standard web site info for my students, clic

One Minute Club - I'm especially happy with how you've conquered the flash cards.  I'm noticing everyone is learning music faster simply because you recognize the pitches faster. See Hall of Fame for those who have made it into the One Minute Club. Some of you "One Minute Achievers" even edited your own name into the web site and uploaded it yourselves.  Way to go!

ISSMA - Also, special congrats to Laura B. who earned a First Division at both local and state auditions at ISSMA.  She played two Tcherepnin Bagatelles, Op. 5, Nos. 1 and 3.  Laura is a setting an example for how much one can accomplish in a short period of time.   I've seen many of you take advantage of the snow and ice days with increased piano practice!

CYO -  was Saturday February 12 at Bishop Chatard High School.  CYO is the Catholic Youth Organization. It's like ISSMA (Solo and Ensemble Festival) for the public schools.

Congratulations to Lauren B., Daniel D., Betsy H., Sarah Ldfd., and Lauren Z.  Every one of you earned a Superior rating at the competition.  Lauren B. and Lauren Z. made it to the finals!

That means 40% of the McIntyre Music Students are in the top 10-15% of all students who went to contest and in at least the top 5% of children who study the piano.
