Solo Recitalists
Congratulations to the following students: Betsy H., Hollie S., and Lauren Z. They have been studying new repertoire this summer in preparation for their own solo recital this year!
Music Leadership Insititute
Added congrats to Lauren Z. Lauren was honored to participate in Butler University's Music Leadership Institute this year. Last year she earned college credit as a high school junior by studing various areas of music and history, then travelled and performed with other MLI participants to China and Taiwan. If you are interested in this program (high schoolers only) contact: Dr. Tim Brimmer of Butler University.
Two students attended music camps this summer.
Sarah Lt. participated in the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp where she studied private piano and other arts. Sarah practiced two hours a day, attended master classes, and performed "Gavote" by Reineke in a public recitatl while at camp. Way to go Sarah!
Lauren Z. was awarded a scholarship to participate in University of Indianapolis' inaugural Chamber Music Camp. Lauren tells me she practiced 27 hours in 4 days (rumor has it...even through lunch!), learned 3 chamber works, coached with professional chamber music musicians, and performed 2 works at a public concert in Lilly Hall in July. If this interests you next summer, (junior high/high school), contact: Dr. Becky Sorley of the University of Indianapolis and request to be put on her mailing list.
