Spring Recital

Spring Recital Rehearsal:

Attendance at the rehearsal is mandatory for participation in the recital
Rehearsal takes place during the studio class prior to recital.
Studio Class location has been moved to the recital venue for this month only
- Meridian Music, upstairs.
- Normal Studio Class times apply
- In consideration for your child's safety, Mrs. McIntyre is requesting your help:
  - please walk your child in and pick them up at the recital hall door, instead of waiting in your car
  - store closes at 6:00pm, so our last Studio Class (5:00 class) will end on time
What do the students do at rehearsal?

learn how to bow before and after we play
- drill enough times to feel comfortable with stage deportment

learn when we play in the program (who's before us)
- practice our cue when it's our turn
get used to the piano
work out ensemble issues with our partners
ask questions
have fun! Afterall, you've played your piece(s) in at least one Studio Class already!

Spring Recital:

Sunday MARCH 7, 2010 at 4:30 PM
Meridian Music Recital Hall (Munger Hall), Upstairs
Arrive around 15 minutes early (4:15 pm should be enough time)
Remain in the upstairs gathering space until recital hall doors open. The recording engineer will be setting up.

Recital & Rehearsal are Where? Meridian Music, upstairs recital hall (Dorothy Munger Hall). Meridian Music is on Old Meridian, across from the east side of Meijer in Carmel. We will use our March Studio Class to serve as a rehearsal.

Recital Fees? $50 per student, added to March remits. Fees cover hall recital & rehearsal rentals, piano rental & tuning, Mrs. McIntyre's time, award costs, programs. The fee will also include an audio CD of the performance, in which each student will receive one.

Recital fee for each student is remaining the same. Mrs. McIntyre's costs have increased due to a second hall rental for the Studio Classes in March, which serve as our rehearsal.

Seniors: Traditionally, all performing seniors are our honored guests and for whom there is no recital fee. (No graduating seniors in 2010.)

Recital Dress is dressy. Girls may wear dress slacks with a nice top, or a dress (knee length or longer and with sleeves). It is customary for the girls' outfit to have sleeves, but not required. No midriff or spaghetti straps, please. Dress pant suits are also acceptable.

Boys are not required to wear a jackets, since they can be a bit constricting. Long dress pants or khaki pants with a belt and a collared shirt (possibly with a tie) are nice. No collarless shirts, please.

Arrival Time for Recital is by 4:15 pm. Recital begins on time at 4:30 pm, even if someone is arriving late. Recital should end by 5:30 pm.

Reception: Regretfully, Meridian Music does not allow for a reception. Mrs. McIntyre will invite the students up for a group bow, and form reception line for everyone to congratulate all students.
