Studio Classes are one of the most important components of piano study.
The purpose is to allow students to practice performing in front of each
other. We practice stage deportment and play duets, two piano works,
and memorized solos. We set daily, small expecations toward high
conservatory standards. The students usually meet in three age groups:
Elementary, Middle School, and High School. Positive self image is
shaped and a team atmosphere is encouraged. Students should start
thinking well in advance what piece they want to play at the next studio
class. A solo is always performed memorized and must be performed
memorized at the lesson prior to studio class in order to be put on the
program. Dress is very casual. Parents do not attend Studio
Classes. We usually enjoy fun, piano related activity after performances
and have a snack before leaving. Studio Classes help to prepare us
for contests, public performances, and spring recital. Studio Classes
are always on a Friday. All school age students are expected to attend
Studio Classes. All classes are from 5:00-6:00pm.
Students do not come every Friday, but average about one per month.
Attendance at Studio Classes are required for all students. Please
